The world is smelling good

The world is smelling goodThe global fragrances and perfumes market is projected to exceed US$36 billion by 2017, according to a report by Global Industry Analysts.

The forecasting company says that this will be driven by emerging demand from developing regions and growing importance of personal appearance and grooming among consumers. Further, introduction of new consumer segments, including young children and babies, and the launch of niche products such as fragrances containing natural, environmentally-friendly ingredients is expected to set the pace for rapid expansion.

Fata MorganaA Fata Morgana is an unusual and complex form of superior mirage that is seen in a narrow band right above the horizon, significantly distorting the object on which it is based.

Twice the amount of freshness from Symrise

On June 7, after just 560 days, the time had come: Symrise brought its expanded menthol capacities into operation, thereby doubling the production volume of this highly coveted raw material. At 2:00 p.m. on the dot, the first menthol left the production line from the new plant. Also there was partner, Lanxess, who delivers the preliminary product and has also invested extensively.

Menthol is literally in every mouth, it cools the skin and offers a range of other desirable characteristics. Demand is increasing both in industrialised nations and emerging markets.
