Adcock Ingram delivers healthy operating results

 

Adcock Ingram logoAdcock Ingram continues to report a positive trend in financial performance, this being the overall message when the Adcock Ingram Group announced their interim results for the six months to 31 December 2017. These positive results were achieved in spite of political uncertainty in the period and high levels of unemployment, which adversely influenced consumer spending.

Clariant improves profitability in 2017

Clariant-financial-resultsClariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced full year 2017 sales of CHF 6.377 billion compared to CHF 5.847 billion in 2016. This corresponds to nine percent growth in local currency driven by double-digit gains in Catalysis and Natural Resources. The strong organic growth amounted to six percent, driven by higher volume contributions by all Business Areas.

Lowest price increase in decade could see several Pharma companies exit market

Erik-Roos-Pharma-dynamicsHealth Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, gazetted a 1.26 percent single exit price (SEP) increase for medicines and scheduled substances in December 2017. This lowest SEP increase in a decade - second only to 2011, which saw no increase at all - comes amid growing utility costs and a depreciating Rand value and could see several players exit the market.
